The scheme aims to open a Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) account that can be opened in any bank , in any branch of the country by those persons who does not posses any bank account. Open Jan Dhan Account Online

Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana , you can easily open bank account online by following the steps given below.

  1. Visit the official PFMS website.
  2. Click on the Account Opening Form in e documents of the portal.
  3. Fill the form and enter all the details that are asked in the form.
  4. Now , open the official website of the bank in which you want to open the account.
  5. Click on Jan Dhan Account and enter the details.
  6. Upload the form that you filled in Jan Dhan Portal.
  7. Bank will process your request in 3-5 working days and you will be informed via message .

  • There is a provision of opening of one bank account for a person.
  • The bank account can be opened even after the age of 10 years.

Jan Dhan Yojana Monetary Benefits

Due to Covid lockdown ,a financial of 500 rupees has been provided to all the poor women through the DBT mode.

Financial help of 1.20 lakh crore rupees has been credited to the poor people directly into their bank accounts under the scheme.

According to the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojana , 9.86 Crore women Jan Dhan account holders take the benefit of 9,930 Crore rupees directly in their bank accounts.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana PMJDY Eligibility

To take the benefits of this scheme, following criteria should be followed-

  • Applier must be citizen of India
  • Applier must be at least 10 years old
  • Must not have a bank account in any bank of the country.

Documents required to open PMJDY account

For those persons who wish to open a bank account under this scheme, the following documents must be submitted.

  • Passport
  • Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) issued job card.
  • Driving licence
  • Voter ID
  • Identity card with photo which has been issued by the Central or State government
  • A photograph attested by the Gazetted Officer.

Eligibility to get Life Insurance Cover

  • The bank account under the scheme should be the first bank account of the applier.
  • Applier age should be between 18 to 59 years.
  • Applier can only take the benefit of this scheme if he/she is the main member of the family .
  • No State or Central governments employees can take the benefit of this scheme.
  • No pensioners can take the benefit of this scheme.
  • No Income Tax payers can avail the benefit of this scheme.

  1. Visit the official PFMS website.
  2. Click on Know Your Payment option on the home page.
  3. Now, enter your account details here and enter captcha code.
  4. An auto generated OTP has been sent to your registered mobile number, enter OTP and check your account balance.

  2. Now click on Right To Us option on the Home page.
  3. Click on Login.
  4. Enter User Id and Password to Login.
  5. Now, you will be logged in and have access to all the online facilities of your bank account.
